Hunting Special! ;o)
Tests of hunting abilities.
Special for blood tracking and hog baying were carried out in Strasin, resp. Hlavnovice, 3-5 of September, 2010.
Dogs performance was judged by three judges- hunting specialists. The first part - fresh blood trace (hog blood) ca 500m long in heavy forest terrain; the second part - a group of wild hogs in fenced area.
Evaluation: 0 - 4; 4 = the highest
Lennox scored 4 - 4, and we are extremly proud of him!
I expected the bloodtrail not to be that long, especially for the first time (Lennox never did something like this before). But mind yourself - I was in for a surprise! Lennox did great! ;o) Once he got the scent at the starting point of the trail he did not lift his head once til he got to the end of the trail. He searched real concentrated, focused and with high speed! I was so surprised by his result. And we are very very happy with his performance!
Also later that day during the hog bay, he did a fab job! He acted totally secure, was not anxious at all...selfconfident and did not back off from the hogs on the other side of the fence. For the first time "baying" we could not have expected anything more. Not even 7 month of age, Lennox showed a great performance.
We really had a fun day, met also Lennox li`ll sis (they had lots of fun playing together) and some other Catahoulas ;o). It was so nice to spend some time with friends who also just imported two Tuska Homma Dogs.., Bodie and Mamie are really sound dogs. Although our two males will probably never get along great - they both believe they are the biggest gorilla in the Dschungel..and we surely won`t let them discuss it out.
We really hope that there will be more working events like this, keep it up that way! ;o)
